Mission Statement

The mission of ACATE is to promote the highest levels of professional training and competence of art therapists through development and promotion of professional preparation standards promotion of excellence in art therapy curriculum and program development in collaboration with CAAHEP accreditation of art therapy masters degree programs that meet or exceed minimum accreditation standards encouragement of educational program self-assessment and continuing improvement and promotion of diverse theory and methods in art therapy education and practice.
