ALCF Mission:Communities with substantial amounts of public lands face increasing challenges to maintain access to their diverse landscapes, to provide for the health and environmental care of their lands and surroundings, and to provide opportunities for future generations to thrive in such communities. The mission of the American Lands Council Foundation (ALCF) is to foster research, education and, where necessary, public interest litigation, to secure a brighter future for western communities and the lands that are the foundation of their lives and livelihoods.ALCF will conduct and coordinate research, scholarship, symposia, conferences, and public educational outreach, both in person and web-based, regarding the issues affecting communities impacted by substantial amounts of public lands and their management. ALCF, when necessary, may engage in public interest litigation to secure, protect and defend the access, health and productivity of such communities and impacted individuals.
