THROUGH ITS SUBCOMMITTEES AND EXTENSIVE CONTACTS WITH ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGERS IN 50 STATES, DC AND 5 TERRITORIES (HEREINAFTER "STATES"), ASTSWMO FACILITATES STATE REVIEW AND COMMENTS ON PROPOSED REGULATIONS, POLICY AND GUIDANCE. ASTSWMO SPONSORED MEETINGS, SUCH AS THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS AND TOPICAL MEETINGS OF INTEREST TO STATE PROGRAM PERSONNEL, AS WELL AS SUBCOMMITTEE PROJECTS, HELP TO FACILITATE INFORMATION EXCHANGE AMONG STAFF FROM DIFFERENT STATES AND FROM THE EPA.
