Mission Statement

ASTORIA FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTES FOOD, CLOTHES, HYGIENE PRODUCTS, BOOKS, AND OTHER ITEMS PEOPLE NEED. WE OPERATE A COMMUNITY CENTER FOR OUR OWN DISTRIBUTIONS AS WELL AS FOR OTHERS TO USE FOR FREE OR LOW-COST EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES. WE USE OUR TRUCK TO PICK UP DONATED FOOD TO BRING TO OUR FOOD PANTRY AND OTHER PANTRIES AROUND NYC. WE ORGANIZE OUR NEIGHBORS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR EACH OTHER, BUILDING A LOCAL CULTURE OF VOLUNTEERING AND CREATING SYSTEMS THAT CAN HELP EACH OTHER THROUGH CRISIS OR HARDSHIP.
