Mission Statement

The AALD is a not-for-profit organisation created to broaden and deepen mutual understanding between Australian and American leaders. The AALD was established in 1992 with the active support of then President HW Bush. President Bush envisioned the Leadership Dialogue would identify, connect and nurture leaders from Australia and the USA and help underwrite the security and prosperity of Australian and American citizens, our shared Indo Pacific neighbourhood, and the world beyond.
