Founded in 1990, Berkshire Children's Chorus explores the globe and travels through time by singing music from various cultures and eras, while also sparking new friendships between singers from across the region. BCC is committed to providing musical opportunities for all youth regardless of their family's ability to pay. Berkshire Children's Chorus is supported by grants from Local Cultural Councils and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, as well as donations from community members. BCC serves rural children in grades 3 to 8 in Berkshire County. Weekly rehearsals feature the development of individual self-confidence and teamwork skills, as well as music reading, ear training, and vocal technique. The Chorus uses music to spark new friendships between singers from across the Berkshire region, offering weekly rehearsals in Sheffield and Pittsfield. Families can choose which rehearsal location works best for them. The two ensembles come together for special events and performances.
