THE BRENTWOOD PARK INITIATIVE WAS ORGANIZED TO SUPPORT THE BOROUGH OF BRENTWOOD AND THE BRENTWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT, WHICH ARE PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS SITUATED IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA. THE BOROUGH OF BRENTWOOD HAS ENCOUNTERED INCREASING BUDGETARY CONSTRAINTS AS THE DEMAND FOR GOVERNMENT SERVICES INCREASES WHILE THE PUBLIC TAX BASE REMAINS STAGNANT OR EVEN DECLINES. IN RECENT YEARS, THE BOROUGH HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DEVOTE SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN AND IMPOROVE IT'S PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES, INCLUDING THE STADIUM UTILIZED BY THE BRENTWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT. TRADITIONALLY, THE STADIUM HAS SERVED AS THE MAIN VENUE FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT'S ATHLETIC AND RECREATIONAL EVENTS. DUE TO INADEQUATE FUNDING, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS BEEN UNABLE TO CONDUCT HOME TRACK MEETS IN THE STADIUM, THE GRASS FIELD AND STADIUM SEATS NEED TO BE REFURBISHED, AND THE STADIUM IS IN NEED OF SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE IN ORDER TO BE COMPARABLE TO THE FACILITIES OF OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
