Mission Statement

ASSIST CACHE VALLEY RESIDENTS AND BUILDERS IN CREATING STRONG COMMUNITIES. RESIDENTIAL HOME BUILDIING IN NORTHERN UTAH EXISTS IN A DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT BOUNDED BY THREE REALITIES, RISING COSTS, RISING INTEREST RATES, AND INCREASING REGULATORY BURDENS. SINCE THE GREAT RECESSION OF 2008, UTAH HAS SEEN AN HISTORIC UNDER INVESTMENT IN NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION. THIS DECLINE IN CONSTRUCTION IS DRIVEN BY UNSUSTAINABLE INCREASES IN CONSTRUCTION COSTS, INCREASED REGULATORY OVERSIGHT BY BOTH LOCAL AND STATE AUTHORITIES AND INCREASING BORROWING COSTS. CONSTRUCTION COST INCREASES ARE DRIVEN BY UNPRECEDENTED PRICE INCREASES IN REAL ESTATE AND INCREASES IN COSTS OF LUMBER AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, MOST NOTICABLY CEMENT. IN THE FACE OF THESE PRESSURES THE CACHE VALLEY HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION WORKS WITH BUILDERS TO CREATE A DIALOGUE WITH CITIES TO CREATE A CHANNEL TO ADDRESS OVER-REGULATION. AT THE SAME TIME, THE CVHBA WORKS WITH THE LOCAL REALTOR GROUP TO COLLABORATE ON SOLUTIONS THAT LOWER HOM
