COLUMBIA STEM ALLIANCE'S MISSION IS TO EXPAND THE NUMBER AND DIVERSITY OF STUDENTS WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO PURSUE STEM CAREERS, TO EXPAND THE NUMBER AND DIVERSITY OF JOB-READY STEM CANDIDATES NEEDED TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC GROWTH, AND TO SUPPORT STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN AND QUALIFIED TO PURSUE STEM CAREERS. THE ALLIANCE SUPPORTS THE COMPLETION OF STEM PROJECTS IN CLASSROOMS AND CLUBS WHICH HELP INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE WIDE RANGE OF STEM CAREER CHOICES, AS WELL AS HELPING PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TO AID THEM IN UNDERSTANDING STEM CONCEPTS, PRINCIPLES, AND APPLICATIONS.THE COLUMBIA STEM ALLIANCE IS A NETWORK OF EDUCATORS, BUSINESS PARTNERS AND VOLUNTEERS WHO INSPIRE INTEREST IN AND PROVIDE DIRECT SUPPORT FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH EDUCATION. IT ADOVOCATES AND SUPPORTS A SOLID FOUNDATION OF STEM EDUCATION FOR ALL STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF RACE, GENDER, OR ECONOMIC STATUS.
