FOR MORE THAN 140 YEARS, COLUMBUS HUMANE HAS BEEN SHELTERING HOMELESS ANIMALS, FIGHTING ANIMAL CRUELTY AND NEGLECT AND OFFERING PROGRAMS TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF ANIMALS IN OUR COMMUNITY. PROGRAMS INCLUDE INVESTIGATING REPORTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY AND NEGLECT IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO AND PROVIDING SERVICES FOR PETS AND PEOPLE INCLUDING ANIMAL ADOPTION, EMERGENCY SHELTERING FOR THE PETS OF VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND HUMANE EDUCATION. MORE THAN 90 PERCENT OF OUR FUNDING IS PROVIDED BY DONATION AND FEES FOR SERVICES. WE ARE NOT A GOVERNMENT AGENCY AND WE DO NOT RECEIVE OPERATING SUPPORT FROM NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS. COLUMBUS HUMANE RELIES ON THE SUPPORT OF PRIVATE DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE OUR WORK POSSIBLE.
