Mission Statement

The organizations mission is to bring together the diverse religious communities in the New York Metropolitan Area for building relationships, networking resources and collectively addressing issues within the various communities. The work of the Commission is:1.Advocacy (a) to examine the problems with which our city is faced, such as poverty, racial strife, homelessness, and a breakdown of moral values, family structure and other social institutions, (b) to be a voice to the voiceless, disenfranchised and marginalized in our region;2.Liaison (a) liaising between city government and the community, (b) building bridges of communication and understanding among the secular and religious leaders of our region as crucial toward achieving our goals of economic and social justice;3.Media Influence - to call public and private interests and the media to focus on and, jointly with us, seek to solve these problems; 4.Collectively Influence - (a) to bring our collective influence to bear on soci
