TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY SHELTER FOR BATTERED VICTIMS WHILE KEEPING THE VICTIMS AND THEIR CHILDREN TOGETHER AS A COHESIVE UNIT. WHILE AT THE SHELTER, THE VICTIMS RECEIVE ADVOCACY AND OTHER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO ASSIST THEM IN MAKING LONG TERM DECISIONS IN A PROTECTED ENVIRONMENT. SUCH SERVICES INCLUDE DISCUSSIONS OF LEGAL ALTERNATIVES AND ASSISTANCE IN SECURING ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE, MEDICAL SERVICES, HOUSING, AND EMPLOYMENT. ADVOCACY AND OTHER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES ARE ALSO OFFERED ON AN OUTREACH BASIS TO FURTHER ASSIST THE NEEDS OF VICTIMS.
