Mission Statement

DesignHouse is organized to inspire and advance design thinking, technology and manufacturing by leveraging local machines, building skills and the jobs associated with them. DesignHouse:(i) educates the public through lectures, symposia, and workshops; (ii) provides job training to the underprivileged; and (iii) helps create and maintain jobs by cross-educating local manufacturers and designers through education and skills-based projects. DesignHouse also advocates for local manufacturing through DesignforLocal events and education, educates on the design to manufacturing process and prototyping using 3d and other technologies for middle school, high school and college age students, and builds awareness of the new manufacturing careers and jobs: New Collar Careers.
