EBPCO is a non-profit public arts organization in Oakland California providing education inspiration and community through the art and craft of photography Our Oakland Photo Workshop Gallery has exhibited 200 local artists since opening in 2021 Over half identify as emerging LGBTQ BIPOC disabled or low-income OPW exhibitions highlight the diversity of the Bay Area and issues important to the community such as anti-Asian violence oral traditions among Families of Color and the work of Women and Non-Binary artists A Guest Curator program ensures diversity in exhibitions and programs EBPCOs community darkroom is a silver gelatin darkroom designed for teaching and preserving traditional film photography techniques It is the first new public darkroom in the Bay Area in many years filling a gap in publicly available creative facilities It provides important support for photographers in the bay area
