Mission Statement

Experience Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that uses Interactive Theater - scripted and improvisational audience participatory theater - to promote dialogue around pressing social issues, to cultivate empathy for targeted or vulnerable populations, and to develop tangible solutions that benefit human beings and our communities. Interactive Theater operates on a pedagogy which recognizes that when people participate in the drama on stage, and subsequently participate in a dialogue in which they process the issues, they are more likely to change personal attitudes and behaviors. This, in turn, builds social capital and improves the community.
