Mission Statement

Who are foundational Oaklander's? There is a heartbeat that gives rhythm to those of us w ho have spent our lives here in Oakland. The rich tapestry and groundwork from the Black Panther Party to the songs of Sly Stone. Foundational Oaklanders are simply put "Everyday People". We have lived through many cycles of change but have always welcomed everyone to our beautiful city. We value each other and treat each other as family, without needing to divide along political labels.
