GATEWAY APARTMENTS INC. IS A SIXTEEN-UNIT GROUP HOME FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. RESIDENTS RECEIVE LIVING AND SELF-HELP SKILLS TRAINING TO ENABLE THEM TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. SECTION 811 CAPITAL ADVANCE PROGRAM FUNDS WERE OBTAINED FROM HUD FOR CONSTRUCTION. IN ADDITION TO THESE FUNDS, HUD SUPPLEMENTS THE RENTALS OF THE RESIDENTS AND REQUIRES THE RESIDENTS TO PAY A RENTAL AMOUNT. A RESIDENT'S RENT IS APPROXIMATELY THIRTY PERCENT OF THE RESIDENT'S ADJUSTED INCOME OR IS A FLAT RENTAL FEE DETERMINED BY HUD.
