WE BELIEVE OUR MODEL OF SERVICE CAPITAL, NOT CHARITY, CO-WORKERS AND NOT CASE WORKERS PROVIDES A STRENGTH-BASED APPROACH THAT ENHANCES THE CAPABILITIES OF FAMILIES, ENCOURAGING THEM TO DRAW ON THEIR OWN SELF DETERMINATION AND STRENGTHS. WE BELIEVE THAT FAMILIES WHO INVEST IN THEMSELVES THROUGH FINANCIAL EDUCATION AND SWEAT EQUITY IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THEIR OWN HOMES TRANSFORM THEIR LIVES AND THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN FOR THE BETTER. OUR FAMILIES ARE REQUIRED TO INVEST 200-350 HOURS OF SWEAT EQUITY INTO HABITAT PROGRAMS. THE OWNER AND FAMILIES ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO COMPLETE CERTAIN HOMEOWNERSHIP READINESS CLASSES BEFORE PURCHASING THEIR HABITAT HOMES, AS THE MORTGAGE HOLDER HABITAT OF NORTH CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS IS ABLE TO PROVIDE A 0% INTEREST MORTGAGE LOAN.
