Mission Statement

The Health Equity Coalition WNC works to give every person a voice in their health care and to bring authentic community leaders and organizations together for collective impact. In the realm of philanthropy, HEC works as a friendly influencer to promote an inclusive model: trust-based philanthropy. Finally, HEC strives to hold HCA Healthcare, which purchased the regional hospital system in 2019, accountable for providing the level of care it promised at that time.
