Mission Statement

The Humane Society of Lake County is a non-profit corporation organized solely for charitable purposes and has the general responsibility to operate for the advancement of humane treatment and the prevention of cruelty to animals. Founded 1975 as a non-profit 501(c)3), no kill/abuse shelter located in Central Florida, we are the only private no kill/abuse shelter in Lake County Florida with an abuse investigator. We shelter small animals, but do have a barn and paddock and can temporarily shelter large companion animals that have been confiscated due to abuse and neglect. We welcome you to come in and meet the animals that you are interested in adopting and if you have other dogs and/or cats we would like you to bring them with you to see if they will get along with the potential dog or cat, puppy or kitten, you are interested in adopting.
