Mission Statement
JC ARTS COUNCIL PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE VARIOUS TYPES OF ART TO OUR SMALL RURAL COUNTY TO ENRICH OUR LOCAL CULTURAL EXPERIENCE. THE PROGRAMS SHOWCASED THROUGH THE ARTS COUNCIL INCLUDE AN ART SHOW (PAINTS, OILS, PENCIL, ETC.), A CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW FOR LOCAL ARTISANS, A MURAL PROJECT FOR BEAUTIFICATION OF THE TOWN,, A MUSICAL HERITAGE FESTIVAL FEATURING OLD TIME FOLK MUSIC, AND A MUSICAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AGES 10-18 WITH VOLUNTEERS AND PAID STAFF THAT TEACH THE CHILDREN TO PLAY STRINGED INSTRAMENTS, MANY OF WHICH ARE DONATED TO THE PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM IS CALLED J.A.M., JUNIOR APPALACHIAN MUSICIANS.
