Mission Statement

The Justice Institute's mission is to permanently reduce crime in the South Carolina Lowcountry Promise Zone counties -- Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Colleton, Hampton, Jasper - as well as Beaufort County, S.C., by creating and operating a criminal justice center that will provide necessary resources, research and education to our current and future criminal justice professionals. The Institute will also work with the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office and other public, private and nonprofit entities to provide a one-stop services center for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse and related offenses. To this end, the Corporation shall lesson the burdens on government and promote of social welfare through the provision of the enumerated services.
