Mission Statement
The Minnesota Humanities Center (Humanities Center) (MHC) is an independent, non-for-profit organization. Its mission is to connect our past, present, and future by bringing people together to increase understanding and spark change. Financial support for the programs and services of the Humanities Center comes from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the State of Minnesota, privat and corporate foundations, individuals, and rvenue earned from fees and conference center rentals. The Minnesote Humanities Center provides humanities-based professional development service to schools and educators and it works in partnership with numerous organizations to conduct meaningful and engagin public humanities programming in communites throughout Minnesota. Its relationship-based aproach to humanities programming is focused on bringing into the public life the stories andexperiences of people and communities that have been missing and marginalized.
