THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO SUPPORT, PROMOTE AND ADVANCE THE MISSION OF THE MUSEUM BY RAISING, MANAGING AND DISBURSING PRIVATE GIFTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE MUSEUM. THESE GIFTS PROVIDE A MARGIN OF EXCELLENCE IN SUPPORT OF THE STRATEGIC INSTITUTIONAL PRIORITIES AS IDENTIFIED BY THE NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND (NHHC), FOUNDATION AND MEMBERSHIP OF THE MUSEUMS' ADVISORY COUNCIL (MAC) PER OPNAV INSTRUCTION 5755.1. IT IS THE CONTINUING INTENT OF THE FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE FUNDS AND IN KIND SUPPORT FOR THE MUSEUM AND ITS PROGRAMS. IN MEETING ITS MISSION GOALS, THE FOUNDATION SEEKS TO NURTURE RELATIONSHIPS WITH POTENTIAL DONORS AND FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM, CONTRIBUTE THE PERSONAL EFFORTS OF ITS MEMBERS TO THE MUSEUM AND ITS OUTREACH PROGRAMS, SOLICIT GIFTS OF ALL TYPES FROM INDIVIDUALS AND LEGAL ENTITIES, INQUIRE AS TO AVAILABILITY OF OTHER PRIVATE RESOURCES WHICH WILL BENEFIT THE MUSEUM OR ITS COLLECTIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGE AND STEWARD THE OFFERINGS AND/OR GIFTS IT RECEIVES IN ACCORDA
