THE FOUNDATION WAS CHARTERED IN 1973 FOR SOLICITATION, RECEIPT, INVESTMENT, AND EXPENDITURE OF BEQUESTS, DONATIONS, CONTRIBUTIONS AND GIFTS OF EVERY KIND AND CHARACTER, INCLUDING CASH AND PROPERTY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL, ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARTIABLE, HEALTH, EDUCATIONAL, AND SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IN CONEECTION WITH THE HOSPITALS, PTHER CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES, OR ANY COMMUNITY HEALTH INITIATIVE WITHIN THE SERVICE REGION OF NAVICENT HEALTH, INC. AND ITS AFFILIATES AND SUBSIDIARIES. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, THE ORGANIZATION MAY DEVELOP AND OPERATE SCHOLARSHIP AND ENDOWMENT PROGRAMS. WHEN THE HOSPITAL WAS ACQUIRED BY ATRIUM HEALTH IN 2019, NAVICENT HEALTH FOUNDATION WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE MERGER AND BECAME A LEGALLY INDEPENDENT FOUNDATION.
