NEBRASKANS FOR INDEPENDENT REDISTRICTING'S MISSION IS TO ENGAGE IN POLITICAL ACTIVITIES RELATING TO THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL WELFARE, AS PERMISSIBLE FOR AN ORGANIZATION EXEMPT FROM TAX UNDER CODE SECTION 501(C)(4).THE ORGANIZATION'S PRINCIPAL ACTIVITY IN 2020 WAS PREPARING FOR AND TAKING PRELIMINARY STEPS TO CONDUCT A NEBRASKA BALLOT INITIATIVE. THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC TOOK HOLD AT A CRITICAL TIME FOR SIGNATURE GATHERING, AND FOR THAT REASON, NEBRASKANS FOR INDEPENDENT REDISTRICTING WAS UNABLE TO GATHER SUFFICIENT SIGNATURES TO GET THE MEASURE ON THE BALLOT. HOWEVER, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO MONITOR REDISTRICTING EFFORTS AND WILL CONTINUE TO SEEK TRANSPARENCY AND OPENNESS IN THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS.THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CONDUCTED ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT OF ITS WORK ON THE BALLOT INITIATIVE.
