Mission Statement

Northern Valley Harm Reduction Coalition (NVHRC) began as a community led effort committed to reducing harm and providing evidence-based education, advocacy, and direct services to all community members within Butte Couty, CA and the surrounding counties. NVHRC recognizes that to implement holistic and effective change, we must reach our community members with a participant-centered approach. We accept, for better or worse, that prescription and non-prescription drug use is part of our world and we choose to work to minimize its harmful effects rather than simply ignore or condemn them. Our vision is for all community members to live safer and healthier lives, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, housing status, financial status, immigration status, current substance use, disability, age, mental health status, incarceration status, religion and any other underserved communities not listed.
