THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 102(A)(3-B) OF THE NEW YORK NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION LAW. THE ORGANIZATION WILL PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES OF DECEASED BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADES UNION WORKERS IN THE NEW YORK CITY AREA. THE ORGANIZATION WILL ALSO PROMOTE CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETY IN NEW YORK CITY. THE PROMOTION OF CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETY WILL BE DONE THROUGH THE PREPARATION AND DISSEMINATION OF WHITE PAPERS, EDUCATIONAL LITERATURE AND EVENTS, GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROMOTE SAFETY TRAINING, AWARDS FOR HIGH ROAD SAFETY PRACTICES AND STUDIES, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETY IN NEW YORK CITY. THE CORPORATION WILL ALSO PROVIDE, FREE OF CHARGE, PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (FOR EXAMPLE WORK BOOTS AND HARD HATS) TO UNION AND NON-UNIONIZED CONSTRUCTION WORKERS IN NEW YORK CITY.
