FOUNDED IN THE SPRING OF 2012 BY YOUNG SINGING PROFESSIONALS, OPERA IN THE ROCK IS ARKANSAS'S ONLY PROFESSIONAL OPERA COMPANY AND IS A DESIGNATED PROFESSIONAL COMPANY MEMBER OF OPERA AMERICA. THE PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF OPERA IN THE ROCK IS THE PRODUCTION OF MAIN STAGE PROFESSIONAL OPERA, A CONTINUING OPERA REVIEW SERIES (OPERA ON THE ROCKS) AND OUTREACH PERFORMANCES THROUGHOUT THE STATE. THE CORPORATION FOSTERS AND PROMOTES OPERA AS BOTH ENTERTAINMENT AND EDUCATION AND GIVES LOCAL AND REGIONAL PERFORMERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO USE THEIR TALENTS AND FURTHER THEIR ARTISTIC CAREERS.
