Mission Statement

Alliance for a Safe Oregon works to make Oregon safer for all Oregonians by ending gun tragedies in our communities. We work with experts, civic leaders and community volunteers to create and advocate for policies, programs and education that lead to a safer, stronger Oregon.We have lobbied for Oregon to pass strong legislation that will regulate gun dealers and stop the flow of illegal guns on our streets. We can reduce firearm injuries and deaths with strong regulations. We have also fought for rapid fire device bans and banning concealed carry weapons from sensitive places.Our Metro Gun Violence Prevention Program has sought Community Violence Intervention funding to be stable and sustainable.
