THE OREGON HUMANE SOCIETY ("OHS") IS A PRIVATE ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATION, FOUNDED IN 1868 AND INCORPORATED IN 1880, WHOSE MISSION IS TO CREATE A MORE HUMANE SOCIETY WITH THE VISION OF A WORLD WHERE ALL ANIMALS ARE TREATED WITH COMPASSION, KINDNESS AND RESPECT. OHS IS A STAND-ALONE, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, OPERATING WITH CAMPUSES IN PORTLAND AND SALEM, OREGON.
