Mission Statement

At 23, Sandoval used jokes about his weight as a catalyst for teaming with the American Heart Association to urge kids to stay healthy. He spoke in his native language to elementary-school-age kids at San Franciscos predominantly Hispanic Mission Cultural Center in the summer of 2010. This past season, after losing 40 pounds, Sandoval made a similar appearance with his brother and training partner Michael at St. Peter School, to the delight of Vice Principal Mercy Sister Marian Rose Power.
