Mission Statement

The mission of RAIN Communities Inc. RCI is to provide resources to address the unmet housing and service needs of homeless individuals and families in Ventura County CA. RCI partnered with RAIN Transitional Living Center operated by the County of Ventura which housed approximately 110 individuals each year. Over half of those individuals were children. Many of the residents have been victims of domestic violence. Since our inception in 2002 RCI has provided $2.52 million in program funding and over 28,000 volunteer hours. The goal is to help each family gain employment improve life skills and build healthy habits that will lead to permanent housing and transformative changes resulting in sustained self-sufficiency keeping family units intact. The combination of opportunity and accountability has proven to be a solution to end homelessness restored dignity and independence.
