IN 2024, RALEIGH CITY FARM DEEPENED ITS COMMITMENT TO REGENERATIVE, CLIMATE-RESILIENT PRACTICES FOR HEALTHIER SOIL AND PLANTS. DESPITE SEVERE WEATHER, AND PEST PRESSURE, THE FARM PRODUCED 13,000 POUNDS OF FOOD, DONATING 6,400 POUNDS--50% OF THE TOTAL HARVEST AND A 62% INCREASE FROM 2023--THROUGH EXPANDED FARMSHARE PARTNERSHIPS; THE REMAINDER WAS SOLD AT 28 PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN FARMSTANDS. NEARLY 6,000 VOLUNTEER HOURS WERE LOGGED VIA 31 PRIVATE WORKDAYS, 38 ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER EVENTS, AND 2 FUNDRAISERS. EDUCATION REMAINED KEY, WITH 16 FARM TO CAMP SESSIONS, 12 PRIVATE TOURS, AND 11 ARTIST IN RESIDENCE EVENTS. THE FUTURE FARMS PLAN & FUND WAS LAUNCHED AND PHASE ONE COMPLETED WITH EXPANSION TO TWO ADJACENT LOTS, INCREASING THE FARM'S FOOTPRINT BY 20% AND INCREASING PROGRAMMING AND IMPACT.
