Mission Statement

To connect children to nature and outdoors for better mental, physical, and environmental health. SDCaN provides teacher environmental literacy instruction through our Moving Instructions Outdoors program (MIO) to use in classroom. SDCaN enhances and expands community involvement through our Check Out Nature Backpack program (CON). SDCaN increases family and teacher involvement in the outdoors through nature journaling program and supporting the Family Adventures in Nature (FAN) meet up program.
