THE SAN DIEGO HUNGER COALITION (SDHC) WORKS COLLABORATIVELY WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO CREATE EQUITABLE ACCESS TO FOOD ASSISTANCE THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY. OUR VISION IS THAT EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO 3 NUTRITIOUS AND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE MEALS A DAY. THROUGH SDHCS CALFRESH AND HUNGER FREE KIDS TASK FORCES, HUNGER FREE SAN DIEGO INITIATIVE AND HUNGER FREE ACTIVISTS, MORE THAN 500 ORGANIZATIONS AND 1,800 INDIVIDUALS COME TOGETHER TO IDENTIFY AND ELIMINATE SYSTEMIC BARRIERS TO SAN DIEGO COUNTY RESIDENTS ACCESSING AVAILABLE FOOD ASSISTANCE.THE SAN DIEGO HUNGER COALITION WORKS COLLABORATIVELY WITH PARTNERS TO ACHIEVE A HUNGER FREE SAN DIEGO BY: DEVELOPING A MORE EQUITABLE NETWORK OF FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS BY ELIMINATING THE BARRIERS HISTORICALLY UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES FACE.ADVOCATING FOR LEGISLATIVE AND ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES THAT REDUCE HUNGER AND INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD.INCREASING PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNMENT-FUNDED ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS TO ELIMINATE THE MEAL GAP
