TO IMPROVE THE PHYISCAL, EMOTIONAL AND ACADEMIC WELL-BEING OF UNDERSERVED SCHOOL COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING SUSTAINABLE MINDFULNESS EDUCATION AND MINDFUL MOVEMENT EDUCATION TO STAFF AND STUDENTS ON A SCHOOL-WIDE BASIS.SMP PROVIDES TRAINING TO UNDERSERVED SCHOOL COMMUNITIES IN THE PHILADELPHIA SCHOOL DISTRICT ON A SCHOOL-WIDE BASIS. THE FIVE PHASES OF THE SMPEACEFUL SCHOOL PROGRAM INCLUDE: THE MINDFUL TEACHER IMMERSION (7 WEEKS), THE MINDFUL CLASSROOM COMMUNITY TRAINING (14 WEEKS), THE MINDFUL TEACHER TRAINING (10 WEEKS), INTEGRATION OVERSIGHT (YEARLONG), AND ONGOING YOGA CLASSES.THROUGH THIS DIRECT SERVICE MODEL AND OUR SIGNATURE FIVE-PHASECURRICULUM, A TEAM OF SMP EDUCATORS WORKS ON-SITE WITH CLASSROOMCOMMUNITIES, PROVIDING A FOUNDATIONAL TRAINING IN MINDFULNESS TOSTUDENTS AND TEACHERS, SUPPORTING THEM THROUGH ALL ASPECTS OFPROGRAMMING, FROM PROGRAM READINESS TO TRAINING, AND CLASSROOM ANDSCHOOLWIDE INTEGRATION OF PRACTICES.
