The Steel Manufacturers Association promotes safe steelmaking that protects the environment and uses natural resources efficiently; advocates for public policy that supports domestic manufacturing; collects and aggregates data that informs smart policymaking; and increases awareness of the steel's industry's vital role in ensuring the national security, the energy security, and the economic security of the United States of America.
