OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM THAT SUPPORTS REGENERATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE FARMING PRACTICES BY INCREASING ACCESS TO LOCAL FOOD FOR NORTH LAKE TAHOE. BY ADDRESSING LOCAL FOOD ACCESS CHALLENGES AT A SYSTEMS LEVEL, WE CREATE A HUB FOR LOCAL FOOD. A LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM BENEFITS DIVERSIFIED, FAMILY FARMS LOOKING FOR FAIR MARKET OPPORTUNITIES WHILE INCREASING ACCESS TO LOCAL FOOD FOR OUR MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY. OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A MORE JUST AND SOVEREIGN FOOD SYSTEM. ONE THAT IS FAIR FOR THE SOIL, FARMER AND OUR COMMUNITY. REGENERATIVE FARMING PRACTICES ALLOW FARMERS TO SEQUESTER CARBON INTO THE SOIL, MITIGATING CLIMATE CHANGE. THESE PRACTICES CREATE SOILS THAT ARE DROUGHT TOLERANT AND YIELD CROPS WITH HIGHER NUTRIENT LEVELS THAN CONVENTIONAL FARMING.
