Mission Statement

The AfriWomen Network Inc., formerly the African Women's Development Fund USA Inc., underwent a name and branding shift per filed documents in 2024. The organization continued to support African women and girls in the diaspora (USA) with bridged to the continent through its programming and with support for its affiliate organization in Ghana, the African Women's Development Fund (AWDF). The AfriWomen Network Inc. focused on community building, ensuring women and girls had opportunities for leadership development, career support, and strategies to foster better health and wellness. In parallel, the organization made grants to AWDF with a focus on women's health, economic stability, leadership, and peace-building through sharing and understanding lived experiences. A critical element of this work was bringing a group of young women together to form the volunteer NextGEN Advisory Group to ensure that the voices of the younger generation inform our work going forward.
