THE ORGANIZATIONS CENTRAL MISSION IS TO PRESENT FREE ORCHESTRAL CONCERTS AS A MEANS OF BRINGING OUR COMMUNITY TOGETHER AN ENRICHING OUR CITY. THE ORCHESTRA IS MADE UP OF SOME OF THE FINEST PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS IN THE REGION, AND PERFORMS FAMILIAR CLASSICS, NEWLY COMMISSIONED WORKS, AND NEGLECTED WORKS BY COMPOSERS FROM UNDERREPRESENTED COMMUNITIES. WE ARE DEEPLY COMMITTED TO INCREASING DIVERSITY, EQUALITY AND INCLUSION BOTH ON AND OFF STAGE, AND WE ARE DEDICATED TO USING MUSIC AS A WAY TO RAISE AWARENESS OF ISSUES AND BRING PEOPLE OF ALL BACKGROUNDS TOGETHER. OUR SIGNATURE CONCERT SERIES TAKES PLACES OUTDOORS AT THE ICONIC HATCH MEMORIAL SHELL ON THE CHARLES RIVER, BUT WE ALSO PERFORM FREQUENTLY IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS OF BOSTON AND SURROUNDING CITIES AND TOWNS, WITH A PATICULAR FOCUS ON UDERSERVED AREAS. THE ORCHESTRA HAS A STRONG HISTORY OF COLLABORATION ON AND OFF STAGE, INCLUDING PARTNERSHIPS WITH YOUNG PEOPLE, OTHER ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND CULTURAL AND CIVIC INSTITUTIONS.
