TO PRESERVE HISTORICAL MATERIALS, ESPECIALLY THOSE PUBLIC RECORDS OF CONGRESSMAN JOHN P. MURTHA; TO PROMOTE RESEARCH THROUGH EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES AND MATERIALS; AND TO PROVIDE FORUMS AND VENUES FOR PUBLIC DEBATE, RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC INQUIRY INTO PUBLIC SERVICE ISSUES, INCLUDING LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL ISSUES. THE ORGANIZATION HAS WORKED COLLABORATIVELY WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH AT JOHNSTOWN. THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH AT JOHNSTOWN HAS CONSTRUCTED A BUILDING KNOWN AS THE JOHN P. MURTHA CENTER FOR PUBLIC SERVICE AND NATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS, AT WHICH HISTORICAL MATERIALS, INCLUDING PRIMARILY CONGRESSMAN JOHN P. MURTHA'S PUBLIC PAPERS WILL BE HOUSED. THE JOHN P.
