Mission Statement

The purpose of the organization is to promote fraternization throughout the Santa Maria Valley and the surrounding area through hosting monthly barbecues at various venues in the local area, each prepared in the tradition of, and true to, the unique historic "Santa Maria Style" oak wood, open pit beef barbecues that originated locally over a century ago and for which the local area is famous. At each monthly barbecue event all attendees and volunteers, comprised of members and guests, sign in and wear name tags. Introductions are made and new members are introduced. Everyone has the opportunity to observe Santa Maria Style barbecuing in progress and speak with the evening's barbecue team before the evening's program which is focused on the rich history and traditions of the Santa Maria Valley and the surrounding area.
