A SUBSTANTIAL PERCENTAGE OF THE RIDERS ON THE UNITED STATES EQUESTRIAN TEAM HAVE COMPETED AT UPPERVILLE. THUS, THE PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE AMATEUR EQUESTRIAN COMPETITION AT THE UPPERVILLE SHOW ITSELF AND TO ENABLE PARTICIPANTS TO COMPETE IN OTHER AMATEUR EQUESTRIAN EVENTS, INCLUDING NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EVENTS.
