Mission Statement

Recognizing the importance of how the US and China - the world's largest energy users - move toward greater efficiency and the development of clean energy sources, a bipartisan group of senior leaders from the US and senior officials from China's National Development and Reform Commission agreed to create a high-level, private-sector-led organization to address how the US and China can move beyond good intentions and dramatically increase our cooperation on clean energy technologies and alternative fuels by identifying and removing barriers. In addition to developing joint energy projects, there is a heavy emphasis on the policies the two nations must adopt to leverage the results from the joint projects and spread them widely. There also is close cooperation with the official, government-to-government Clean Energy Research Center CERC and the Strategic and Economic Dialogue S&ED so that the solutions developed by the forum can be implemented in the near term by our two nations.
