Mission Statement

THE PURPOSE OF THE UTAH LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL IS TO PRESERVE AND HONOR THE MEMORIES OF UTAH POLICE OFFICERS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY. THE MISSION OF THE UTAH LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL BOARD IS TO CONTINUE RESEARCH TO IDENTIFY FALLEN AND FORGOTTEN POLICE OFFICERS IN THE STATE OF UTAH, AND PRESERVATION OF THE MEMORIALS AT THE UTAH STATE CAPITOL AND UTAH PEACE OFFICERS STANDARDS AND TRAINING BUILDING. THE UTAH LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL BOARD WILL PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THE FAMILIES OF FALLEN OFFICERS, ENCOURAGE TRAINING TO REDUCE LINE-OF-DUTY DEATHS, AND CONTINUE TO PROMOTE GREATER UNDERSTANDING TO THE PUBLIC REGARDING THE PRICE THAT IS REQUIRED TO KEEP THE PEACE.
