Mission Statement

TO CREATE THEATRE THAT MAKES OUR COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE BY PRODUCING PLAYS, PROVIDING A SUPPORTIVE PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THEATRE ARTISTS ARE INSPIRED TO PERFORM THEIR BEST WORK, AND ENCOURAGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF VERMONT AUDIENCES AND THEIR LOVE OF THEATRE. FY 23 AND FY 24 INCURRED FINANCIAL LOSSES FOR THE ORGANIZATION. WITHOUT CHANGING THE MISSION OF VERMONT STAGE COMPANY, WE ATTEMPTED TO EXPAND THE CAPACITY OF THE ORGANIZATION BY HIRING AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (ED), RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL NON-ARTISTIC FUNCTIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION. THIS (ED) WAS HIRED WITH FUNDS WE HAD ACCRUED OVER THE PRIOR YEARS. DURING THE TENURE OF THE ED WE WERE UNABLE TO INCREASE OUR REVENUE CAPACITY WHICH LED TO THE LOSSES IN FY 23 AND FY 24. WE HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY CUT THIS POSITION AND SHOULD RETURN TO FINANCIAL STABILITY IN FY 25.
