WAGISA SUPPORTS AND ENCOURAGES PROFESSIONAL GROWTH IN THE GIS FIELD THROUGH CONTINUING EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION, ADVOCACY, AND SERVICE TO ITS MEMBERS. GIS PROFESSIONALS USE GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY TO SOLVE REGIONAL AND LOCAL ISSUES IN THE FIELDS OF PLANNING, TRANSPORTATION, PUBLIC WORKS, THE ENVIRONMENT, EMERGENCY SERVICES AND UTILITIES.
