PROTECTING THE FOREST ALSO ALLOWS A UNIQUE HUMAN CULTURE TO THRIVE, AS THE RESERVE IS ALSO THE HOME OF INDIGENOUS MBUTI AND EFE PEOPLE WHO HAVE LIVED IN THE ITURI FOREST FOR OVER 40,000 YEARS.
